Fall Recital

Hey everyone! This year's Fall recital is going to be a little different from anything I've done in the past, and that is largely because I've recently moved cross country and am now actively teaching students in both California & Kansas. In thinking about all of you, half of whom are adjusting beautifully to the online lesson format & the other half who are doing an amazing job with their first lessons in the new studio, I wanted to create a performance opportunity for this time of transition & growth in the studio that would be both low-stress & high quality where students in both states can see each other's performances, cheer each other on and be motivated to try new music in their own lessons. And I'm very excited to share with what I've come up with. 

Save the date for Saturday, November 3rd at 11:00 am Central Time/9:00 am Pacific Time, because that is when you will want to tune in for our Fall Recital Broadcast where I will welcome you all to the show, and play the videos each of the students have recorded. You will be able to hear what your fellow students have been working on, and applaud each other in the comment section. This broadcast will most likely happen using Facebook Live from the Dawn's Piano Facebook Page, so if you haven't already liked the page, you'll want to do that so you'll be notified when the broadcast starts. 

For my students, here's what you need to do:

• First, you want to practice the piece we chose in lessons to a performance level.
• Second, record a video. If you are in Kansas, we will record a video in the studio during one of your October lessons. If you're in California, you will record a video of your performance & send it to me by October 31st. 
• Tune in on November 3rd for the broadcast!

And that's all you'll have to do. The video will be saved & posted to the Facebook page, so you can watch it at your convenience if you're unavailable at the time of the broadcast. I may even try to organize a viewing party here in the studio for interested students - any details about that are still in the works. 

If you're looking forward to a more traditional, live performance opportunity, students in McPherson will be able to participate in the Multi-Piano Christmas Program on December 15th, and we will have a traditional, live performance in the Spring where students in CA will be able to web-conference in for their performances.
